This was taken on a helicopter tour of the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon a few years ago. As we slowly lowered into the canyon itself, the canyon walls loomed up all around us, larger and taller and more majestic than I ever could have imagined. I felt so surreal, and so small. You can look at its vastness all you want from above, but I don’t think you can get a true feel for how mighty it is until you have stepped foot on the canyon floor.
